The Fog of Forgetting

Title: The Fog of Forgetting (The Five Stones Trilogy)

Author: G.A. Morgan

Genre: Fantasy

The Fog of Forgetting is a fantasy book about five children, Knox, Frankie, Chase, and the two younger siblings, Teddy and Evelyne, and they all live in Maine. During the summer, they go on a boat ride with each other. While they are on the boat in the ocean, a storm hits them and pushes them into a very mysterious fog. Eventually, the fog clears out, and they see that they are on a very mysterious island that’s not on any maps. The name of the island is Ayda, and nobody can ever find it. The kids decide to stay on the island and later figure out how they will get home because the boat was damaged by the storm.

They start to walk around and explore the island and find out that it is split into five different sections and each of them has its own leaders controlling them with different people. Some of the people are bad, while others are dangerous. They find people to help them like the good people from the land of Nero, and others are trying to stop them like the dark ruler of Naro But the most strange thing about the island is that all adults who are on the island forget a lot of things very easily and loose some of their memory because of the strange fog. Then they later figure out that the fog is magic and it's being used to control the island by someone. Then they unfortunately get caught in the middle of a long battle, and they have to figure out who to trust. The kids grow very close and learn to work with each other. In the end, they learned why friendship, trust, and bravery are very important. The kids try to stop the fog from growing and getting to other parts of the world, and help the people of Ayda defeat the evil leader controlling the fog. They face immense danger, and eventually find their way home.

My favorite character in the book is definitely Chase because he was just a normal boy at the start of the book, but in the end, he became a great leader to all the other kids. He helped his siblings and friends stay strong and never gave up, and he made good choices for the group's benefit. I really liked how he changed and became someone the other kids could look up to.

I really liked the book because it was very well written by G.A. Morgan. It was very engaging and interesting, and it kept me hooked the entire time. I also liked it a lot because it had a lot of mystery and fantasy, and a tiny bit of suspense to it. I liked the character development, like how at first the kids didn’t like each other, but after they learned to work together, they became good friends. The author was also very good at describing the scenarios. When I was reading it, I felt like I was standing there with them in the fog and on all the different parts of the island. Overall, the book was very interesting, and G.A. Morgan did an amazing job writing it. I would give it a solid 8/10. If you read this book and liked it, you should try reading:

Chronicles of Narnia series
