He is a devoted husband and father who loves combining modern stories with ancient mythology, captivating the imaginations of young readers across the globe. Riordan is best known for his beloved series, "Percy Jackson & The Olympians," which blends Greek mythology with the life of a regular teenager. The first book, "The Lightning Thief," introduces us to Percy's exciting adventures as he navigates his identity as a demigod while dealing with real-world challenges.

I chose Rick Riordan as this month's author for his remarkable ability to make myths accessible and entertaining for young audiences. His books interested me and many other kids in mythology and learning about it. Riordan explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and bravery through his different books, all while combining humour and relatable conflicts. Rick Riordan makes mythology so interesting to read about. His writing promotes a love for reading and increases curiosity about ancient cultures and their stories. He also helps upcoming authors with his new program, Rick Riordan Presents, which makes fans of Rick read books from other authors. I'm always impressed when I read his books by how he takes serious themes that are familiar to kids, making his books both enjoyable and provoking. He can also leave his books on cliffhangers, making the readers more intrigued and likely to read the next book. Riordan's creative storytelling keeps readers coming back for more adventures, ensuring they'll be fascinated by mythology long after turning the last page.
